Since the launch ofover 20 years ago,the BradcladGroup has always looked to the future, developing new ideasto keep theproduct atthe forefront of theroofing industry.
Early solar panelsystems, based on crystalline technology, have been fitted topanels after the roofsystem wasinstalled, using a structural framework. This is often costly, slow to installand results in a solar panel systemwhich imposes itself on the building.
Now, through a partnership withBIPVCoin theUK, Bradclad are able to offerwith an integrated PV thin film solar panel system.
Manufactured in the UKand using thevery latestCIGS technology, the PV films are laminated to the metalroof paneland incorporated into the roof during construction.
Unlike more conventional crystalline solar panels, therequires no framework or bracketsystem. The solar panels are not fitted to the roof– they are part ofthe roof. Withefficiency levels that match their crystalline rivals, the thin filmoption offersthe building designer a solar panel system that is sympathetic to his choice of roof.
Inverters arehidden, fixed to the underside of the laminate, and removethe need for any visible cables or wires on the finished roof.
The versatility of means that choice of roof extends to differentshapes, materials and finishes.
The standardpanel is produced in either a colour coated steel or aluminium. Projectsin Europe can be completed usingPrisma coated steelfrom Tata, available with a coating warranty of up to 25 years. For morehostile conditions, such as those found in the Gulf,is supplied in PVDF coated aluminium, availablein any RAL colour.
